9 AM Mekenna was last seen on a construction site in Blue River, Oregon. According to witnesses and police reports, she was naked and afraid. Police state that she claims she was "recovering from a bad acid trip", yet they took her to her vehicle where she got dressed, and they left her there. She was last seen on camera driving away at 12:02 PM.
10:30 PM Neighbors arrive home after a day of errands, Mekenna's car is not on the property.
11 PM Neighbors claim they heard Mekenna's car arrive at her property. They hear two car doors shut, assuming it is Mekenna and her dog Hilo arriving home. They hear her dog barking throughout the night and next day, but say that's not unusual.
6 PM Mekenna's friend went to check on her after her boyfriend had not heard from her in 24 hours. Mekenna's dog was barking, so they did not want to enter her trailer and went to get their daughter who also knew Mekenna.
9 PM Mekenna's friends returned to her trailer. They entered Mekenna's trailer with the neighbors and discovered it in a disheveled state. In her trailer, there were her phone and car keys. In Mekenna's car was her purse. Mekenna's trailer appeared "thrashed".
11 PM Mekenna's neighbors and friends each call the police to file a missing person's report.
Mekenna's friends find her clothes in the McKenzie River near the construction site where she was last seen.
Locals, law enforcement, and family search for Mekenna Reiley in the Blue River Reservoir area.
A black garbage bag full of Mekenna's muddy clothing and other suspicious items is found abandoned in the woods above Mekenna's home.
Mekenna's naked body is found in the Blue River Reservoir by kayakers.
Despite a suspicious injury to her body, the state ME rules her death a fresh water drowning and her case is eventually closed.
Mekenna's family obtains a private autopsy, which contradicts the state ME and suggests foul play.
